It's just not merited (imho) until you start pushing towards 600 rwhp and beyond. Wagz's stock short block held together over 700 rwhp with no issues (I believe it was stock, stop me anybody if I'm misinformed). I think what I've been hinting at all along is that as long as you keep a safe tune, your engine will handle all the power you throw at it while still in the realm of streetable horsepower. 600+ and I'll say that's a good time to seriously consider internal upgrades. Upgraded components are nice to have in case of emergency, forged pistons are better suited to handle detonation than cast pistons - that being said neither will last long under heavy abuse.
